Today as never before, people are losing touch with religion. For some, it is an active choice in response to some past experience. Others may never have been introduced to formal religious beliefs. And, in many cases, the practice of religion has simply gotten lost among the many other demands and activities of modern life...
Unfortunately, we may not really think that much about religion until something brings it into focus. Maybe it's a holiday, a wedding, the birth of a child, or the loss of a loved one. These emotional "life events" remind us of our spiritual needs and the comfort that religious faith can provide. Most of us do believe in a higher power. We may refer to it as God, Allah, Jehovah, Buddha, or The Great Spirit, but we sense that there is some invisible force. We know there are rules about right and wrong, how we should treat our fellow man, and how we should live our lives. And, we hope there is something good that awaits us when we leave this life. For most people, it's not that we've rejected God and the more spiritual life. It's just that there are so many other things we have to do every day... That's why we established Time of Need Ministries. We understand that, whatever your personal vision of God, you want to know you haven't been forgotten-- You can reach out for support when life reminds you that you need it! It's sad, but even members of the clergy sometimes forget that... Well, we are here to help! We are a non-denominational and interfaith ministry. That means whether you grew up as a Baptist or a Jew; a Catholic or a Hindu, a Lutheran, Buddhist, Methodist, Presbyterian, or Unitarian Universalist, or if you've followed no faith-- we are here to help you in your time of need!

If you want to return to your regular faith later, or maybe look around at several alternatives, that's fine. We don't run any local churchs, temples, or tabernacles and we don't require that you join any group or attend any classes. We accept requests from everyone, when they need the support of a member of the clergy. Our principal pastor is Reverend Ronald J. Heilner. He was originally ordained by the Universal Life Church more than 20 years ago. He also earned an ordination from the Church of Interfaith Christians, and was recently also ordained by the Church of Spiritual Humanism. He is a member of the St. Benedict Interfaith Fellowship, the National Association of Wedding Ministers, and The Interfaith Alliance, among other professional organizations.
He has performed services and ceremonies for people of many faiths, and has an extensive library of the teachings and customs of all the major religions. If you prefer, he can also perform certain types of services from a Humanist perspective, which recognizes the spiritual, ethical and personal strengths of an individual, without using traditional religious language or rituals. If you are located in Southeast Michigan and need our help: You can send email to Rev. Heilner at: pastor@timeofneed.org Or you can call us, at (248) 628-7057
